The department was established in the year 1984 with only Higher Secondary courses. In the year 1992, the department got provincialized and started BSc (Honors) in 1998-1999. Badarul Islam was the first qualified major students of the Department. From the day of its establishment, the Department has graduated a large number of outstanding students. The Department encourages its students to develop both personally and intellectually. It’s related to outside-the-classroom initiatives like awareness campaigns and government-funded outreach programmes. Currently, the Department consist of 04 permanent faculties with about 450 students.
