Objective:

The objective of the department of Arabic is to provide quality education and foster a deep understanding of literary knowledge of Arabic language and literature with a special focus all over India and abroad. Situated in a remote area, the department tries to promote research on language and literature, advocate for spreading literary learning, and address some raising problems and challenges. Through skill development, community engagement and social awareness the department aims to empower students for advanced studies, careers in Arabic and meaningful contributions to the sustainable development of the area.

Vision and mission:

The department of Arabic has been brought into existence in the year 1971 with the very inception of the college itself and since then this department has imparted knowledge about various aspects of Arabic language to a large number of students, which are now engaged in different professions. The greater region of Kalgachia has been benefitted from the education imparted by this department since Honours course offered from 1985. We have achieved significant recognition as a quality institution among the masses of Kalgchia which is reflected in our satisfactory enrollment every year. We are in a continuous mission to encourage and engage our students in various professions related to our field and also beyond.

Department at a glance:

Nabajyoti College was started with arts stream and was brought under grant-in-aid system in 1979. Nabajyoti College is the first higher educational institution in the minority dominated area of Kalgachia. The department offers Honours course from 1985 onward and also it witnesses an intake capacity of 50 per class. The Arabic department is a full fledged department today having departmental library as well as for class room teaching. All the teachers are ICT enabled and have done their allotted works and accomplished the same within the time frame to the satisfaction of the departmental requirements. There are three permanent faculty members and one contractual faculty member.
