Kalgachia, 1st December, 2023: The Red Ribbon Club of Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia has observed The World AIDS Day on 1st of Dec to raise awareness about the challenges that remain to achieve the goals of ending AIDS. An awareness programme was organized by the Red Ribbon Club and as a resource person a Senior Physician from the Barpeta Civil Hospital, Kalgachia, DrRezaul Karim was invited to deliver a lecture. Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, the Principal of the college presided over the meeting.
Dr. Rezaul Karim delivered his lecture about the symptoms of AIDS and how to prevent the disease and to spread awareness about this life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Then, there was a lecture given by the principal of the college about raising awareness about AIDS and guided the students to take preventive measures to tackle the life-threatening disease. The entire program was hosted by Meghalee Morang, Asst. Prof., Dept. Of Assamese and Abu SayadRofi, Asst. Prof., Dept. of English. Then, there was a prize distribution ceremony for the three competitions, Poster making competition, Rangoli Competition and Painting Competition organized on 30th Nov, 2023 in accordance with the WORLD AIDS DAY. Theprogramme came to an end with the vote of thanks given by Pritam Dey Sarkar, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Zoology.
