Kalgachia, 16Aug: An Oath Taking Ceremony was organised at Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, on 16th August 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the College Auditorium, as instructed by the Government of Assam and the Directorate of Higher Education.
The programme was held to pay homage and express condolences to the innocent people and students who lost their lives in the tragic Dhemaji bomb blast of 2004, which occurred during the celebration of the 15th Independence Day, perpetrated by the terrorist group ULFA.
On this solemn occasion, the faculty members and students of Nabajyoti College came together to take an oath to stand united against terrorism and to promote a spirit of peace, harmony, and brotherhood among the people of Assam.
The entire programme was led by the Vice Principal of Nabajyoti College, Prof Kumaruzzaman, who guided the participants through the proceedings and emphasized the need for collective responsibility in eradicating terrorism and fostering unity.
After the oath-taking ceremony, one minute’s silence was observed in memory of the innocent victims, as a mark of respect and solidarity.
The ceremony concluded with a pledge of commitment from all participants to uphold peace and resist all forms of violence in society.
