Kalgachia: On 17th November 2025, Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, organised a memorable Alumni Meet that brought together former students and faculty to reconnect, reminisce, and contribute to the college’s progress. The event was presided over by the esteemed Principal, Dr Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, and hosted by Dr Fakrul Alom, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, and Dr Neetu Saharia, Assistant Professor in the Department of Assamese.
The program commenced with an introductory speech by Dr. Neetu Saharia, who outlined the objectives of the event. The focus was to discuss preparations for the forthcoming NAAC Peer Team Visit, scheduled for 5th and 6th December 2025. She highlighted the significant role alumni could play in supporting the institution during this critical phase.
The meet witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished alumni and members of the Alumni Association. Dr. Surmam Ali, Retired HOD of the Department of History and the Working President of the Alumni Association, along with Azad Hussain Sarif, contributed valuable insights. Khandakar Asraful Mamun, the General Secretary of the Alumni Association, and Dr. Jahidul Islam, the Treasurer, were also present.
Notable attendees included Ismail Hussain, former President of the Alumni Association, and Abdus Sattar Ahmed, a proud member of the college’s first batch of students. Other eminent alumni gracing the event were Moazzem Hussain, Extension Officer; Abdul Waquil, AES Officer, Government of Assam; Dr. Hasmat Ali, Dr. Masood Zaman, Khandakar Abdul Baten, and Abdul Motin, Notary Magistrate.
The alumni shared heartfelt memories of their time at Nabajyoti College, expressing their nostalgia and pride in their alma mater. They actively participated in discussions about the NAAC Peer Team Visit, providing practical suggestions and pledging their contributions to enhance the institution’s preparedness.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Malabika Baglari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Assamese, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and organizers for making the event a grand success.
This Alumni Meet was not only a celebration of the past but also a step towards building a brighter future for Nabajyoti College, leveraging the expertise and support of its vibrant alumni community.
