Observation of National Communal Harmony Campaign Week & Flag Day

Kalgachia, Nov 26: National Communal Harmony Campaign week was observedin Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia and a procession cum fund collection drive was organised by the college on 23rd Nov. The procession and the collection drive were led by the principal of the college, Dr Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, and all the faculty members and students of the college joined the programme.

 

The programme started at the college main gate and passed the Kalgachia Chariali police point, Kalgachia Daily Bazaar, Hall Market, State Bank of India and back to the college.National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) observes Communal Harmony Campaign Week every year. The main motive of the programme is to increase awareness regarding the importance of Communal Harmony and National Integration. The funds collected during the program would provide financial assistance to children rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence for their education and rehabilitation. All the faculties, students of the college, shopkeepers, and random people on the streets, made their contribution to the program and made this programme a successful one.

On the 25th of Nov, 2023, a Music Competition was held in the college by the Music and Cultural Secretary and Prof-in-charge, Music and Culture, in accordance with the ongoing observation of National Communal Harmony Week. The theme of the competition was Communal Harmony and Patriotism. The students of the college participated in the programme. The judges for the competition were DrDhrubajyoti Das, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Pol. Science and Meghalee Morang, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Assamese. A chorus performance was also made by the teachers of the college.
