The morning of 6th October 2023 saw an inspiring display of unity and patriotism as faculty members, staff, and students of Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, gathered at the college premises for a cleanliness drive and a series of solemn ceremonies.At approximately 6:30 AM, the college community assembled with a shared commitment to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings. Students, faculty, and staff worked in unison to clear debris, pick up litter, and spruce up the college premises. This act of community service not only beautified the campus but also instilled a sense of responsibility and pride in the participants.At 7:30 AM, Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal of Nabajyoti College, NJC, took the honour of hoisting the college flag. This symbolic act resonated with the spirit of patriotism, underscoring the college’s commitment to fostering a sense of societal pride among its students and staff.
At 7:45 AM, a solemn ceremony took place to pay homage to the “Swahid Bedi,” a monument dedicated to the martyrs. The coordination of this tribute was under the leadership of Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal, NJC. Sahajul Islam, Vice President of the Students Union, NJC, led the proceedings with reverence and respect.The ceremony was attended by distinguished members of the college community, includingSushil Kr. Sarkar, Academic In-charge, NJC; Kumaruzzaman, Academic Observer, NJC; Shanidul Islam Bhuyan, Assistant General Secretary of the Students Union; Faculty members and staff.
51st Freshers Day Celebration
Inauguration Ceremony
The celebration commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony held on the college premises. Dignitaries from the faculty members and student representatives were present. The ceremony included speeches, cultural performances, and a formal welcome address to the incoming students.
Preeti Mel
The “Preeti Mel” emerged as the pinnacle of the Freshers Celebration at Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, 2023. Inaugurated by Sushil Kr. Sarkar, the Academic In-charge, NJC, the event was graced by esteemed faculty members and vibrant students. Sahajul Islam, the Vice President of the Students Union, presided over the meeting, lending an air of authority and enthusiasm to the occasion.
To ensure fairness and accuracy in the selection of Mr. and Miss Fresher, a panel of esteemed judges was appointed namely Panchali Baishya, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Kaberi Sonowal, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Dr.Debashis Saikia, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics. Their expertise and discerning eye played a crucial role in identifying the most deserving candidates.
Mokibul Khan emerged as the epitome of charm and confidence, earning him the title of Mr. Fresher.Jonaki Yamin, with her grace and poise, captured the hearts of the audience, securing her position as Miss Fresher.
Open Meeting
The Open Meeting at Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, was a momentous occasion that brought together an illustrious group of dignitaries, esteemed faculty, and dynamic students.
The event, presided over by Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal, NJC, was graced by the presence of notable guests, including Member of Parliament, Abdul Khalek. Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal of Nabajyoti College, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event, ensuring its smooth execution.Mr. Abdul Khalek, a distinguished Member of Parliament, Barpeta Constituency, graced the event with his esteemed presence, adding prestige and significance to the occasion. Other notable guests include Retd. PrincipalIn-charge, NJC:Khondokar Abdul Gaffur, Retd. Principal, NJC: M. Muzamil Hussain, Retd. HoD, Department of History, NJC:Dr. Surman Ali, Retd. Professor, NJC:Dr. Mohammad Shahjamal Shaikh, and members of the Governing Body, NJC: Monirul Islam, Amser Khan, and Momotaz Khatun.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdul Khalek, Member of Parliament, Barpeta Constituency, made a generous pledge to provide a fund of 7 lakh to Nabajyoti College. This announcement was met with appreciation and gratitude from all present, highlighting the significance of such contributions to the institution.
Dr. Hemanta Hazarika, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, had the honour of inaugurating the departmental newsletter. This marked an important step in fostering academic engagement and knowledge dissemination within the college.
The event was further enlivened by captivating performances by the students. Dance routines and melodious songs showcased the diverse talents and creativity of the student body, leaving the audience enthralled.
Priyanka Kalita, a renowned singer, graced the event with her melodious voice, captivating the audience with her soulful renditions. Her performance added a touch of
