Kalgachia, 8th Feb: 53rd College Week was observed in Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia from 1st February to 7th February, 2023. The programme was inaugurated with the hoisting of the college flag by Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, the Principal of Nabajyoti College.
After the campus cleaning campaign and plantation of saplings, different games and sports of the Major and Minor games departments were started with a friendly cricket match between the teachers and the members of the Students Union. The first day of the college week was concluded with the Music and Culture department competitions.
The second day began with the various competitions organised by the Girls’ Common Room and proceeded to quiz competitions under the Department of Debate and Symposium. Along with this, the competitions of Major and Minor games and Music and Culture departments were also going on simultaneously. On the third day, the students participated in the competitions of Boys Common Room, Gymnasium and other competitions organised by the College Magazine department. On Day 4, the remaining competitions of Major, Minor, Debate and Symposium along with the competitions of Music and Culture were also observed.
Day 5 of the college week started with the Marathon competition organised by the major games department. After other competitions of the Music and Culture Department, the day was concluded with the last competition of the week i.e. Photography Competition organised by the Department of Debate and Symposium.
On the 7th of Feb, 2024, an Open Session was organised which was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The college week ended with the Musical session of the invited singer Silpi Chakravarty.
