The Women’s Forum of Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia successfully organized an awareness-cum-outreach programme on “Measures Against the Menace of Dowry” among nearby communities. The programme aimed to highlight the social evil of dowry and its legal consequences. Assigned students and teaching staff delivered insightful lectures on the issue. A skit performed by students effectively portrayed the harsh realities of dowry practices.
The college sincerely thanks Syeda Hamida Khatun Ma’am (Associate Professor, Department of Assamese) for graciously providing her residence as the venue, enabling us all to gather and make the event a success.
As part of the outreach initiative, free sanitary pads and iron tablets were also distributed among the women to promote health and hygiene awareness.
The programme was well-received and marked a meaningful step towards social awareness and community engagement.
