Arohan Review Meeting

Kalgachia: A comprehensive review meeting under the Arohan program was successfully conducted at Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, with the primary aim of evaluating the performance of mentees who appeared for the HSLC Examination 2025 and to chart a course of action to improve their academic outcomes in the future.

The program was a joint initiative of the District Administration, Barpeta, and SamagraShiksha, Barpeta. It brought together key educational stakeholders, including Principals, Headmasters, and mentors from across the district. The ADC, Education, Barpeta, Mr. Jayanta Bora and Mr. NiranjanOjah, DPO, SamagraShiksha, Barpeta was present in the programme. The meeting witnessed active participation and insightful discussion on the challenges faced by students and mentors alike. The faculties of the college was also present in the meeting.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal of Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia. In his address, Dr. Ahmed expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the District administration. He acknowledged the hard work of the teachers and mentors involved in guiding students and underlined the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance academic performance. Dr. Ahmed also emphasized the role of educational institutions in nurturing students beyond textbooks and examinations. The purpose of the meeting was given by Mr. Niranjan Ojah.

Mr. Jayanta Bora then took the floor to introduce the core objective of the meeting. He pointed out that the review was crucial for understanding the underlying reasons behind the suboptimal performance of certain mentees in the HSLC Examination 2025. He explained that the Arohan program, a flagship mentoring initiative, was designed to provide personalized academic and emotional support to students. Mr. Bora highlighted the necessity of introspection, honest feedback, and strategic planning to ensure better results in the upcoming academic sessions. He called upon all present to treat the meeting as an opportunity to bring constructive change.

Mr. Niranjan Ojah presented a detailed analysis of the HSLC 2025 results. He used data and comparative figures to highlight the performance trends of mentees under the Arohan program. Mr. Ojah identified specific subject areas where students underperformed and drew attention to schools that showed consistent decline or stagnation in results. He stressed that mentoring, while a valuable tool, requires active engagement, regular monitoring, and proper documentation. His presentation served as a wake-up call, urging mentors and school heads to reevaluate their methods and reconnect with their mentees more meaningfully.

An open floor was then provided for the Principals, Headmasters, and mentors to share their experiences. Many spoke candidly about the challenges faced, such as irregular attendance of students, lack of parental support, infrastructural limitations, and time constraints faced by mentors. Some also shared success stories and best practices that had helped improve student confidence and engagement. This session allowed for a rich exchange of ideas and gave administrators a grounded understanding of field-level issues.

Following the feedback, a general discussion was held to brainstorm solutions to the identified problems. Participants proposed several measures including the need for more frequent mentor-mentee interactions, increased awareness among parents about the importance of the program, psychological support for students facing anxiety and stress, and improved coordination between schools and district-level academic authorities. It was agreed that mentorship would be more effective if it extended beyond academic guidance to holistic support.

The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Niranjan Ojah. He extended gratitude to the District Administration, Samagra Shiksha officials, school representatives, and mentors for their participation and shared commitment. He also thanked Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed and the staff of Nabajyoti College for hosting the event.

The Arohan Review Meeting served as a valuable platform to reflect, reassess, and re-strategize the implementation of the mentoring program. With focused leadership from district authorities and honest collaboration from educators, the meeting set the tone for a renewed approach to improving the academic performance of HSLC aspirants in the coming years.
